A cheap cash grab in reaction to the Minecraft movie making bank because people treated showings like RHPS with audience participation.

What? It’s the 50th anniversary present of a cult classic. What in the world does that have to do with Minecraft?

Minecraft made more money than any film in a very long time

And it made that money because of teenagers ironically going and treating it like RHPS with audience participation.

And RHPS was previously the most popular movie with audience participation as a gimmick.

Yes i understand the context differences, but marketing teams don’t care and neither will movie goers.

This is a corporation squeezing money out of a corpse, if you want to watch the RHPS movie it still exists and the experience will not be meaningfully changed by a remaster.

I like the discussion but gotta bring up things like this take time. The article mentions that the restoration process took 10 months. I don’t think they could be that reactionary, that fast!
