Since 1992, the program has helped American families and businesses save more than $500 billion in energy costs, a federal report says.

It’s incredible how someone is so committed to doing the wrong thing in every situation. Next he’ll outlaw sunlight and children’s laughter.

I saw this weird behavior called “vice signaling” a few years back and I’ve used the term ever since. It’s the perfect name for their anti-woke anti-anti-fascist demonstrations because “virtue signaling” is what they call acts of basic decency.

For example, Reagan spent additional government funds just to remove the solar panels from the roof of the White House because they were wasteful since solar “didn’t work.” Clearly, the more wasteful choice of removing them was justified. Smh

Why not keep it going, so that if you want to, you can purchase the least efficient products?

Trump has long targeted efficiency standards for appliances, blaming the showerhead standards in particular for ruining his “perfect” hair. In April, the president signed an executive order lifting restrictions on how much water can be used by showerheads, saying his administration would “make America’s showers great again.”

Doing the dumbest thing for the dumbest person for the dumbest reasons.

Just thinking, you think these companies would stop making those versions? Or is this race to the bottom?

Or is this race to the bottom?

Always has been. They’ve just been given jetpacks now.

But the serious answer is “whatever’s cheapest”. If their manufacturing is already setup for the current efficiency standards, then they probably won’t change anything. Not sure how new models may be affected, but I guess it depends on the supply chain.

This reeks of Trump doing something for the media to focus on so they won’t focus on the actual shit he’s doing behind the scenes. Which means we should be looking for a bigger scandal.

What about the energy crisis Don?

But that was never the real point was it. Solar and wind energy keep a few dollars out of the billionaire pockets, so we gotta cancel that.

I was in the process of replacing a very old, inefficient heat pump system in January.

The DOE efficiency rebate page and all information about it was gone from the website days after Trump took office and replaced with positively Orwellian propaganda: “Restoring Energy Dominance. Trump’s Day One Actions will return the Department to Regular Order.”
