This is so delusional I’m almost lacking words. The reporter saying “Critics would say Isreal started the war by attacking Iran about 48 hours ago” puts it perfectly. The way she just completely waves that off is just crazy to me.
Israel bombing Iran and killing hundreds, and then acting shocked when they strike back is like some sick “shocked picachu” moment. It’s like they can’t comprehend that this time they hit a country with an actual military that can respond, and that their own citizens will suffer and die for it.
The part that bothered me the most was her lamenting how it’s always Jews getting attacked

I guess being Israeli means living in the idea that you’re the victim no matter how many countries your state attacked, how many people they killed. They still ride on the idea that they are poor oppressed people, because of the Holocaust. That was an unthinkable terrible thing, but doesn’t give anyone the right to do a similar kind of thing to others.
More reason for them not to do it, because they know how shitty it is.

Says they didn’t do anything and then proceeded to say no one wants Iran to have nuclear weapons. Sounds like she knows perfectly well that they started it. She is just upset they attacked Israel instead of all those other countries that don’t want Iran to have nuclear weapons.

Having state enforced national narratives of unjust persecution (towards Israel, not just real historical anti-Semitism), blaming others for everything going badly, dehumanizing adversaries etc is bound to create this type of almost delulu social narcissism. “I’m the greatest victim” is the textbook manifestation of vulnerable subtype of narcissism. I wouldn’t pathologize a whole society normally but the overwhelming support for the ongoing genocide means at least functionally inhibited or reduced empathy and we need to learn from this.

Well state owned media is also definitely a thing. And it goes through corporations too. The state forms some lucrative ties with a corporation and convinces it to buy media establishment en masse, put them under a single umbrella and convert them to propaganda machines. The state is nowadays just another cover for some people to get extremely rich so it sort of puts everything in the same pot.
