So was the Nazi leadership more dangerous as dead martyrs or were they more dangerous when they were living?

Well I disagree that the Nazi leadership became martyrs, for one, so I reject the premise of the question.

Killing some old white dudes with other old people is not the tactic to rely on.

You need the young and radicalized who are terminal.

I wish, wish, wish I had faith in the system, checks and balances, and all that bullshit.

Violence should only be used in self defense when violence is going to be used on you, or to protect other who can not protect themselves.

Fascism, sadly, only seems to understand pain and suffering. I suppose a clean kill is more merciful than that, though I can’t say I condone it outright.

Yankistanis will never reflect on their history and think their country was built for the rich, by the rich, from the very beginning. They still think it’s built on some humane “values”, lol.

The values like genocide, racism, sexism, slavery, oppression, segregation, xenophobia, and neocolonialism.

The mental gymnastics so many non-voters use to convince themselves that their lazy mediocrity is not a HUGE part of the problem. They exert a hundred times the energy to stab themselves in the chest with a rusty knife, and as gangrene sets in, they fancy themselves as hero martyrs, because they so bravely did nothing of value to stop this. Useless deadweight flakes that they are.

we have to stop blaming voters for their apathy and instead try to understand why a campaign fails to mobilize them. scolding a voter for rejecting persistent mediocrity implies that we must accept it, simply by virtue of being less bad. pragmatically, this makes sense but not everybody has the privilege of accepting the least bad option when doing so appears to have little impact on their present untenable situation.

i exercise what little power i have to try to keep fascists from power but if others weren’t motivated to do the same, we have to actually speak to their grievances. Kamala campaign had every opportunity to reach these people and instead chose to basically say, “fuck what you want, we don’t need your votes.” so when she gets BTFO across the country, she has nobody to blame but herself for running a campaign that failed to stand for anything her constituents cared enough to vote for (i know there is also always voter suppression that favors Republicans too but she also failed to pursue effective legal remedy for that).

yeah it sucks hard that this happened, especially so for those of us first on the chopping block for fascism. but to break the cycle, the impetus is on our politicians to be better, not on the voters to settle for worse.

As an Australian I am constantly amazed that no matter how racist, homophobic, greedy, stupid, selfish and blatantly self-serving America’s government representatives are, you continue to vote for them.

We arent so committed to the red vs blue ideology. If I vote for blue one term and they don’t perform I’ll vote red or green or independent next term.

Unfortunately, the way things are going, your vote might not make a difference for much longer.

Yyyyeah. Unfortunately we’re not actually a democratic nation- land and especially money count for more than actual people when it comes to voting. Gerrymandering just reinforces it, and ensures an undemocratic result.

To be clear, Australia is not perfect by a long stretch, but our politicians are much more discrete in their desire for enrichment, we also have a lot more guard rails in place to prevent it, while they are in office.

While there is obviously big business trying to influence government decisions, that will always happen regardless of who we vote in. My point is, if the person you vote for isn’t clearly concerned with improving the lives of their constituents you should absolutely fuck them off and not continually vote for them for decades.

We’re flooded with disinformation. Even smart, left leaning people in my circle are spouting crazy lies as if it’s truth. It takes hours to dispell a single lie if they’re patient enough to listen, seconds to form it. It started maybe in 2016. 99% of our news and Internet search results are like Cold War propaganda. Don’t think it won’t happen to you either, I’m very sorry if it does.

One of the parties is blatantly racist, homophobic, greedy, stupid, and selfish, and they celebrate it, they are proud of it. The other party is not. The other party has issues, but they are worlds apart. There is no excuse not to aggressively vote blue at every opportunity.

    True story.

I was given a chance to talk to a bunch of high schoolers about volunteering at volunteer healthcare clinic.

Most highschoolers ignored me. They had no idea what healthcare is. They think it is free.

    They feel invincible, as expected.

I stressed the importance of volunteering because there are many people are uninsured and underinsured.

One highschooler made a snide comment, “Everyone has insurance. Our family have Medicaid. It is free.”

I hope life will treat her kindly.
