Unfortunately it is not the first time. If i remember correctly multiple dozens of Palestinians have been killed by aid-drops the last time around, or drowned in the sea in the attempt to collect food from crates that landed there.

Of course every humanitarian organization condemns these aid drops as they are dangerous, ineffective and just for show, while thousands of trucks are waiting to bring in aid by land, which works perfectly fine if Israel isn’t sabotaging it.

Serious question: while air drops are likely dangerous and ineffective, are they better then nothing? Bringing aid in by land/truck is impossible right now, so the comparison shouldn’t be to that; it should be compared to getting nothing at all.

It is not impossible to bring in aid by land. The air drops come among a refusal to enact economic pressure on Israel to demand the land corridors to be fully opened.

The entire air drop campaign of Germany last year delivered the tonnage of a single truck. And Gaza needs somewhere around 600 trucks to prevent the starvation to worsen and more like multiple thousands to substantially improve the situation.

Imagine ten people havent drank any water in three days. The air drop campaign is like offering a single syringe full of water for all of them to share.
