What’s even funnier is that Iranian leftists sometimes praise the Islamic Republic for being “anti imperialist”. Like the Islamic Republic didn’t help Asad remain in power in Syria, or use Hezbollah to meddle in Lebanon. The Islamic Republic fights against western imperialism because it wants to create its own empire.

Yep. In general I do not like the current government. However, do keep in mind this government is a direct result of a coup orchestrated by the US and Britain. We like to oust communist / socialist governments for right wing autocrats.

For the US and Saudi they’re really not, sure they’re way worse than the average country but nothing compared to what Iran are doing, and frankly Israel, Hamas, Hezbollah and Iran are all so far down the tyrrany slope that it’s hard to justify being on any of their sides for anything
