minus-square@[email protected]linkfedilinkEnglish3•3 months agoI think it was more, they chewed the leaves for a subtle caffeine high and one day they chewed the pits and got a way less subtle caffeine high and realized they were more potent. Roasting probably got introduced to the process much later.
