    Lol this is why I’m too paranoid to post cat photos.

    If someone ever find one of my relative’s social media and the photos of my cat that they took and compare it, they’ll find this lemmy account.

      There’s a wonderful android app called Imagepipe. Does a few things, but stripping exif data is one of them. Workflow is also great!

      I realise that won’t help against people simply recognising your cat, but it’s useful for protection against bots and stuff.

        If you see how depressed and pathetic I look, you’d cringe to death. Life was already terrible, then 2024 11 05 happened (USA), now I have zero hope.

      It would amaze you at what some of these geo trackers can do. I’ve seen someone post a generic highway corner in bumfuck nowhere and the person found them in only an hour.
