      “…the barrel.” Apples don’t come in bunches, but at the time the saying was coined they were carted around like that. (Also it only took one, not a few.)

      (I suppose the modern version is “one nazi spoils the bar.”)

      That “it’s only a few bad apples” would be a reasonable answer if that system gets rid and punishes those bad apples.

      But if the system protects and ignores those bad apples, then the whole system is rotten

          Adding on “The customer is always right”.

          People often forget the next few words which are “in matters of taste”.

          In which case, yes, absolutely. If a paying customer wants a well done steak with ketchup, sure. Or if they want some ugly clothing. Hell yeah, as long as they’re paying.

          It’s not an excuse to act like an entitled asshole.
