Ram Trucks. according to research, these vehicles are the most likely to be driven, and wrecked, by a drunk driver. People who instinctively idolize an animal that solves it’s problems by smashing them with it’s face… probably not the best people to drive near.

Sadly I really like how the classics look and therefore want one.

But I don’t drink, at all. And I definitely don’t idolize rams. That’s a pretty funny generalization to make though.

Living in Australia where US trucks really don’t go on our roads well, I can attest to Ram drivers being the most dreadful drivers here. As we’ve come to call it, Emotional Support Vehicles.

It’s got nothing to do with any weird animal symbolism bro. Thing is, dodge will finance absolutely anybody. And dodge makes a fun vehicle until it breaks down.

It’s like 50/50 lol. My brother has a 20+year old Ram, no problems. My Ram went tits up after 4 years. But my Charger ran like a champ until I sold it. If I’m ever in the situation where I can justify a fast car again, it will definitely be a another hemi. As far a trucks go tho, I’m a die hard GM fan these days.

Pavement princesses, brodozers with mall-wheel-drive, only used to transport Big Macs. Never done a days work in its life. And none of their drivers know (or care) how to park such a monstrosity in a standard parking space without taking up 2 or more spots. The embodiment of modern entitlement. They are the main character.

What’s the assumption here? Am assumption means there are insufficient known facts to assert the truth.

(EU) SUVs. Are you insecure and too stupid to drive? GET A CAR 20% larger in every dimension so you can piss off the whole world with your incompetence.

Or do you have a genuine reason that makes them advantageous?

      I have an SUV because:

      • my mother in law has mobility issues and struggles to get in/out of a saloon.
      • my wife has neck issues and the higher driving position is better for her
      • I like it (ok, that could make me an arsehole)

Truth is that mine (BMW X1) is at most 5cm bigger in any dimension, if at all, than the car on which it is based (Mini Cooper). The extra size is an optical illusion.

Also - the mass and form of an SUV makes them a good option in terms of safety. Smaller vehicles get crunched like pop cans, and trucks get sandwiched by their own bed if you hit a solid object.

Not sure that makes any difference really. As I said, the actually difference between my (admittedly mini) SUV and its corresponding saloon/hatchback is a few cm at most. Also, they all meet the same safety standards.

The difference between a proper car (BMW, Renault, etc) and a crap one (Dacia, Hyundai, etc) will make more difference than whether it is an SUV or a saloon. In either case, if the car was is newer than ~2000 it will be infinitely safer than what our parents shoved us into anyway.

Actually no. SUVs are great at murdering the drivers of other cars, they do not in fact protect you any better. Its just a big blow up dick for assholes.

Making yourself safer by making everyone else less safe still seems like an asshole move to me?

Bumper height should have been regulated on city roads, then we wouldn’t have gotten this escalation. Work truck, sure. If you need one, you need one. But people who drive a massive gas guzzler to park it at the office and go up the elevator to work?

Sure, but not caring that you are the problem makes you an asshole, right? That was the original question. So the point stands.

“I do not care if it makes other less safe”

So after you have stated that you are literally an anti social sociopath you ask how permanently removing you from societly would be good for everyone else. Ok. I put this as blunt as possible so it is easy to understand, but obviously you need coloured pictures and a helper?

That’s similar to why I hav an SUV. My dad has mobility issues and has a scooter to help him get around. The SUV is higher off the ground making it easier to get in and out while the larger cargo space can hold the scooter and anything else (groceries, luggage, etc).
