I’m about to take a long flight and am looking to expand my music library.
EDIT: Thanks so much, everyone! I’ve got 10.5 hours of music on my new playlist thanks to you all!
Free by Crush 40.
Also, Soul Coughing (El Oso since I only have that single album from them). Specifically Blame, $300, and Pensacola. This is my much more serious answer.
Machinae Supremacy - Sidology 3 – metal covers of songs from old video games actually also using a SID chip.
Colin Stetson is a fantastic ride. He plays instrumental music, but he’s playing lower-pitched instruments *wrong.".
Mics on the keys are picking up rhythmic clicking acting as the percussion. He is sometimes shouting through the instrument. The end result sounds like a chase through the woods in the dark.
I was intrigued by your description but also thought I’d hate it. Gave it a listen and was pleasantly surprised, he’s super talented and his music is totally unique.
I’m glad you like it!
I found him some time ago and it’s great to unwind after a tough day. I’ll play it on my Bluetooth speaker in the shower.
Scuba “Three Sided Shape”. The album (Triangulation) is really cool, too!
Destiny Potato
Always been a Clutch fan, but I’ve been listening to Three Golden Horns a lot the past few days.
The Rumjacks. Irish punk / rock / folk and very good.
The original singer had some issues, and was replaced by another singer with a great voice :)
King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard. About to release their 27th album and have covered pretty much every genre so no matter what you like, there’s probably a record for you. My favorite is the Flying Yellow Microtonal Banana, full of great tracks, but Billabong Valley has broad appeal.
King gizzard are exceptional, only downside is that it can be a little intimidating with 27 studio albums to choose from for a first listener! Honestly a good method to pick based on what you like is from their album covers, they do a pretty good job summing up what it’ll sound like imo.
The other way to navigate it is if you get into the storyline of the Gizzverse, the fictional universe that is referenced throughout their songs, but not in chronological order. Trying to piece it together has encouraged me to branch out and listen to albums I otherwise might have ignored.
I love KGLW but I don’t like the microtonal stuff.
To each their own. That’s part of what makes KGLW so fascinating. They’re a band that two people with very different musical tastes can both love equally!

Orion and To Live Is To Die are better, IMHO. :)

Don’t be. I’m just sharing an alternate opinion.

Do you get though that I said “in my humble opinion” and posted a smile? Do you get, though, that other people may like Metallica and have different songs they like and would have the urge to reply to your comment as if it were the Metallica thread? Do you get that, though? Do you?

You sound insecure. I wasn’t trying to bring you down. Be confident. Own your opinions.
Have a nice day.
I’m not obsessed with Wisp
it’s much deeper than that
Breaking benjamin
Massive Breakz and Def Cut are pretty dope
Egg by Mr. Bungle.
Fit For An Autopsy
More specifically, their new album just came out, The Nothing That Is, it slaps so hard I haven’t listened to anything else since the CD came in.
Nothing new, Alan Parsons Project.
