…and find yourself binging by accident?

The most recent example I can think of is The Apothecary Diaries. When I decided to check it out after the first season aired, I entered a hyperbolic time chamber and suddenly came back to my senses after bingeing the whole season. The mystery building is just too good.

This is easily One Piece for me. On the other hand, watching it one by one waiting a week is torment. So I don’t watch it for a year and gulp it at once.

This only works if you’re already caught up. Good luck “accidentally binging” 18 days straight (excluding credits).

Evangelion needed 3 more episodes and then just forget about the movies

I will never have enough Restaurant to Another world, there was so little made!!!

I would like to see all of Clannad made into an anime instead of basically just the prologue chapters

Hunter x Hunter for me. The episodes are paced to perfectly draw you into the next one.

Most recently, Vivy: Fluorite Eye’s Song. Every episode ends on a twist or a shocking reveal, which just demands going on to the next one. The only thing that stopped me from watching it straight through was that I started it late enough in the evening that I fell asleep.

On the other end of my timeline, the first one that did that to me was Elfen Lied. I sat down to watch the first episode and see what it was about, and six hours later, I was still there, finishing up the last episode.

86 did that to me so thoroughly that I only have really clear memories of the early episodes and the late ones - most of the in-between is a blur.

Madoka Magica can still do that to me, even after all these years and rewatches. Just something about the way the story unfolds sweeps me along with it.

Akudama Drive too. It takes a bit to really get going, but it hits its stride at about episide 3, and doesn’t let up until the epic ending.

In a completely different vein, if my mood is right Nichijou will do it to me.

What anime makes you think “I want to watch one more episode!”

Anime that hooked me episode after episode tend to have top-tier stories + storytelling, and are usually those that I consider peak drama / suspense / thriller. Many of these have the most suspenseful cliffhangers.

    Some of them are:

    (Gundam-like)

    • 86
    • Gundam: Witch from Mercury
    • Vinland Saga

    (drama)

    • Girls Band Cry
    • Toradora!
    • Umamusume: Pretty Derby - season 2

    (suspense)

    • Beastars
    • Oddtaxi
    • Oshi no Ko

    (thriller)

    • Saga of Tanya the Evil
    • Terminator 0
    • Vivy -Flourite Eye’s Song-

    find yourself binging by accident

To be fair, it’s no accident that I binged them. I have been catching up on top-rated anime for quite a while now.

I can’t start rewatching Strawberry Marshmallow without binging every episode in one go. It’s just not possible.
