This randomly popped up under my persimmon tree. My plant identifier thinks of might be a crocus. Anyone know? I think it’s beautiful and I’d love to encourage more to grow if possible!
I use this ID app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=cn.danatech.xingseus
Works great, says it’s a rain lily. The crocus faces up, not to the side like this one.
It also says it’s been introduced in Florida, and has no other range, which doesn’t seem right to me

You sure? Google Lens says it’s a crocus. I’ve found it to be less accurate than PictureThis.
looks like Zephyranthes robusta and this naturalized in florida.
We call them “surprise lilies”. They pop up in late August early September. They usually have a leafy bush thing in the same spot in the spring that dies away around June or July.
People saying rain lily but it doesn’t look like my rain lilies (same color but different shape). It does look like a type of crocus to me.
If it does turn out to be some sort of rain lily, they seem to multiply by themselves, I split them occasionally and plant some in other parts of the flower garden because I like them, they are easy, and they bloom in the summer here.
The petals in your photo do seem pointier. Mine looked rounder at the tip.
What’s your location? America, Europe, Asia?
Try this out: https://identify.plantnet.org/
I’m in North America zone 7b. Weirdly the app I said I used was PlantNet which is what identified it as a crocus (rain lily was #2).
seems more like Zephyranthes Robusta
Identified via PlantNet
Definitely a rain lily (Zephyranthes) - they multiply like crazy if you divide the bulbs after flowering and they’ll bloom after rainfalls (hence the name lol).
Naled ladie?
closely related, but naked lady as a red bud flower bud before it opens, and the leaves usually die back before the flower appears.
