  • This framework was provided under the context of “reducing the emotional and cognitive load that comes with job loss”. That’s not the unhinged psychopathic shit I’m used to seeing on LinkedIn, it’s an acknowledgement of human suffering combined with practical advice to help.

Not every post about bad things has to be spent massaging people’s feelings or informing us that capitalism is bad; sometimes some help navigating what is becoming an increasingly shit system is appreciated.

  • Serious question: is the morality of homosexuality actually brought into question in the old/new testaments, or is this one of those things where people have chosen to interpret some shit creatively? Seen quite a few of those creative takes, like the people claiming the “hot or cold” or “camel through the eye of the needle” bits are actually some obscure references to local conditions rather than actual moral lessons.

  • Lemmy is more liberal than left, that’s my problem with it. You will get hate for saying very reasonable opinions just because it goes against certain narratives. Better yet, just spit straight facts and you will still get hate, like this: economic class matters more than race for nearly all aspects of life, and a considerable number of primarily-racial factors would also be solved by eliminating poverty and reducing overall inequality.

Now watch the comments roll in.

  • Stupidpol describes itself as “Subreddit focused on critiquing capitalism and identity politics from a Marxist perspective” and I’d say that’s pretty accurate. Despite being primarily Marxist, rightoids and libs are allowed to post so long as they flair themselves, and censorship is kept to a minimum (mostly just removal of anything that gets Reddit admins involved).
