You’re correct, I had mixed up several of them in my memory. I think 6 is what I was thinking of where you can say “fuck your civil war, I’m out”

Technically speaking Far Cry 5 meets this definition. At the beginning of the game the big bad guy arrests you and says to wait while he brings you the person you’re trying to save. If you sit there for 10 minutes doing nothing he returns with the person and lets both of you go. Most people just start murdering instead
Probably Newton and Tesla. Both seemed to not really understand other people and were more focused on their specific hobbies
I’d argue tranqilizing someone is a form of “behaving” another person
I’d encourage them to try standing in a closed garage with a running car to see how they feel about how dangerous greenhouse gasses are
I don’t know what space constraints you’re working with or how confident you are at PC building but this will be a tight build. NVME as your only storage will help but I’d be legitimately concerned if that cooler, your video card, and all your memory will physically fit on the board and in your case. That ignores your ability to physically put everything together without breaking anything. Thirdly you’re building a small space heater, that thing will run pretty hot under any decent load
Otherwise this is a pretty capable machine that should handle any reasonable tasks you throw at it
Ted Lasso is feel good TV about a guy who takes his traditional skill set outside of his country to a different career (football coach to soccer coach) and different culture. It has a focus on being kind and embracing other cultures. Obviously OP is implying a cultural dissonance with this being popular given the American political landscape
Just replace gambling with making drugs and steal with kill and this could be about Paul Atreides
Dead Rising 2: Off the Record did have a sandbox mode and in my opinion was the most fun game in the series. The original had an infinite time mode but you had to get the true ending I believe to unlock it
The Thunderbolts are quite literally called “The New Avengers”
The Democrat strategy:
So you’re saying I should view the speed of sound in a medium like the speed of light in a vacuum? That it’s the “speed-limit” of how a wave propagates and so trying to exceed it is impossible for a physical wave?
If you’re looking for something epic but self-contained I really liked “Seveneves” by Neal Stephenson. If you want something that’s got a similar level of art to Hyperion I’d suggest “This is How You Lose the Time War” by Amal El-Mohtar and Max Gladstone
Counter-point: to quote Brennan Lee Mulligan “if it’s impossible for your players to succeed or fail a roll, why are you letting them roll in the first place?” The DM should know all of the players’ stats, if a 20 can’t succeed then just tell them what’s happening to them, don’t tease them with the possibility of success
In Horizon Forbidden West
Las Vegas ::: becomes one after a story event
The End of Time in Chrono Trigger is an Oasis in the void instead of the desert.
You know, in a sane country this would be a reasonable headline. Tax dodging is often done legally if dishonestly. By hiring someone who is particularly adept at navigating those loopholes that person could effectively shut them down without opening new ones. It takes a thief to catch a thief and so on. Unfortunately this isn’t a sane country so I have to assume he’s just going to make the loopholes just straight up holes to make things even worse
Jason Pargin’s “Zoey Ashe” books are decent. Especially if you’re focused on social media and AI impacting day-to-day life. You may already be familiar with his writing for Cracked (back when it was good) as David Wong
Winnie the Pooh characters could be translated to DND without much effort: Pooh as a totem Barbarian, Tigger as a Swashbuckling Rogue, Oath of Redemption Paladin Eeoyre, Owl as Nature Domain Cleric, etc. Then you can build a small adventure in the hundred acre woods to collect supplies for a birthday party or something similar
As I live in the south I hear my “how are you all doing” morphing into “howya’lldoin” and there’s nothing I can do to stop it
The reason why I assume a certain number of lemmy users can name every element of the periodic table
