Yeah I assume it’s some kind of rate limiting, but Catbox has had this issue and others since before the pandemic. I don’t think it’s built on a strong foundation, which sucks because a donation-driven non-corporate image hosting service is an objective good, but the single most important thing about any service is being able to use it in the first place.

Maybe in future you could include some reasoning with your comment about why to use an alternate service. Personally, I’m kinda just using what works until Lemmy includes a video function. Though, I can imagine some instances might not be able to afford the hosting fees associated with a feature like that.
