My favorite fictional universe is Star Trek, but right now I’m really into The Expanse and that’s probably more interesting.

I am a trekie too. I only hope to not get reincarnated on one of the planets that got razed to the ground for backgroundstory.
Additionally it could be devastating for the federation if one trekkie gets assimilated by borg

    Pokemon seems awful

Ever present terrorism, most towns don’t have food

Animal attacks are more common and dangerous

These terrorist organizations are at least nice enough to let you attempt to capture a relatively weak pikachu for over a decade. My boss gets mad if I go over my 15 minute coffee break.

Not up to date on pokemon lore by a longshot but iirc Jessey and James are actually just nice people who really like pokemon and do their jobs badly on purpose.

If you take them at face value and not as a gamified abstraction, sure. “Pallet Town” having three buildings is unlivable but it isn’t shown that way in non-game media.

The organized crime is rough but that usually gets sorted out by a child at some point so just keep your head down.

The anime version seemed pretty nice. I actually got pretty depressed for a few days when I was a kid and realized I would never live in that world.

Avoid the null zones and be a peaceful asteroid miner? Oh, and try to make enough to pay some mercs. Just in case

I’d be fine as a capsuleer but the odds of being a normal human in that universe are astronomically high.

Elden Ring is the world that is entirely devoid of hope, where many golden eras are all long past like millennia ago. There maybe another golden era coming, but it could just be a gilded age.

Melina has hope, and gives reasons for it if you talk to her down near the three fingers but before you interact with them. There’s just no hope of the status quo ever being fixed.

Melina had hopes on Miquella. Ranni had hopes on the stars. Each of the holder of an Elden Ring shard had a vision. Yet that was the precise reason for the current situation. Sure, their heart might have been in the right place, their hopes might have been just, but their methods were not. Hence, the lack of hope for regular denizens of that world.

I can’t wait to visit Starfleet Medical to get my back and stomach fixed, live in a post scarcity utiopia, see other worlds, and study whatever I want.

EDIT: I think the worst thing will be contemplating the metaphysics of transporters. But maybe I’ll just never take one.

Nah its cool factorio guy doesn’t HAVE to leave.

      No pollution, no biters.

      Very doable.

Just find an island, 100 stone for 2 landfill, and get to the island by picking up a landfill behind you and placing it in front of you.

You have eternity, so take trips off your island to mine things by hand, craft things by hand, etc.

      Eternity awaits.

I highly recommend watching The Worst Guide To Factorio, which is where that quote came from. Gives a great overview of the game with awesome lines like that.

          Some other great ones include:

Do you have a STEM degree or similar mental affliction?

Using this very average German, we need to build an automation factory, and to do this, we’re going to become more obsessed with belts than an anime protagonist so that we can accomplish more insertions than a sounding enthusiast.

It was never about winning, it’s about sending a message. This planet is alive, and I’m going to teach it fear. And in order to do that, we’re going to be expanding harder than a furry artist trying to make rent.

Hope you started this several hours ago, because now it’s time for the Kovarex enrichment process. … Fun fact: It’s named after the game’s lead developer and works by exposing the uranium 238 to the radioactive yikes that is his Reddit posts.

Scale up our circuit production to an absurd degree and consume them like they’re Doritos. Size does matter and anyone who tells you otherwise is a bottom, and I’m always on top of my game.

          And probably my favorite:

Finally, I have to address a bit of an elephant in the room. The lead developer of this game kind of sucks. I truly hope they’ve had a redemption arc since their controversy but I wouldn’t feel comfortable recommending this game without acknowledging it. So to balance the scales I’ve done what any reasonable person would do in this situation. I learned LUA out of spite and made a mod that lets you be gay and select pronouns.

You only have to optimize the factory enough to protect yourself. If you can progress faster than the biters, you’re probably fine.
