Thanks! That’s the one.

I can’t make a joke in good taste, so I’ll just point it out.
Reminds me of that picture I saw going around of two snakes and some wires.
The first snake bit a wire and electrocuted itself, and the second snake bit the first snake and electrocuted itself.
And I always thought, that first snake was an idiot and probably thought he was biting another snake, and he paid the price for it. But the second snake had the exact same thought, only he was right. He really was biting another snake, but he still suffered the same fate.
If Tesla is any indication, it’s only a matter of time.
That’s most of the theaters by me. It’s lovely.
All the explosions.
I actually am skeptical of nationalization. I think the free market is more efficient in most situations.
But if you think SpaceX is running circles around NASA, well that’s so ridiculous that I’m starting to doubt myself.
“was”? Watterson is still alive.
That would be a diabolical way to shift the MAGAts to his side.
Since this immediately followed that picture, for a second I thought you meant they were going to dress up Vance as a child. You know, since so many Republicans are pedophiles.
Because that would be diabolical.
It’s semantics, which means it doesn’t matter. If a tomato had feelings, and referring to it as a vegetable hurt those feelings, then you’d be wrong to call it a vegetable, even indirectly.
Because you seem to have missed it:
It’s describing something that is really happening.
There is a systemic bias that exists where men treat women this way. It’s a problem that these women have to deal with. Trust in the experience of people who are actually in this situation instead of trying to invalidate them to feed your need to win arguments on the internet.
That must be really frustrating.
But I’m willing to bet most cases of “mansplaining” are some guy being an idiot and missing hints from the other party in the conversation, as well as just misjudging what is common knowledge and what isn’t.
If you’re a man, who are you to invalidate the experiences of women like that?
If someone overuses the term and accuses someone of mansplaining when that’s not what they’re doing, by all means call it out. I’ve been unfairly accused of mansplaining before. But that had nothing to do with the word itself and everything to do with the person who said it. Not having access to that word wouldn’t have made them more reasonable.
Meanwhile the word describes an experience that you have never had, and you’re sitting here saying that most of the people who have had it actually haven’t. That’s kind of fucked up, dude. Take a step back.
“Mansplaining” is describing something sexist. It describes a real phenomenon that is necessarily gendered.
It’s not sexist for the same reason terms like “anti-semitism” or “gay bashing” aren’t prejudiced. They’re descriptive of a real thing that happens.
Terminology like this can help women navigate problems that men don’t have. If you don’t see the value in it, maybe that’s because you’ve never experienced that problem.
Always be wary of sticker packs bought online. They’ll literally just do a Google image search and print off everyone’s weird fan art of whatever you’re looking for. Nudity, drugs, fetish stuff, doesn’t matter.
I made the mistake of buying a Sonic the Hedgehog sticker pack off Amazon for my kids. Honestly it could have been worse, given how hard Sonic “fan art” goes.
Considering Microsoft continues to layoff developers, I think we can safely rule that out as a possibility.
It’s possible that in this specific instance Microsoft would not spend the extra money wisely. But for the industry as a whole, if the financials look better, fewer people will be laid off and companies will be willing to take more risks.
The second is the assumption that games are more expensive than ever to develop. This is beyond untrue; games have actually never been cheaper to develop.
Yes, indie games are cheaper to produce, which is why they cost less. The prevalence of mid-budget indie games strengthens my point: gamers have many options at many price points, and raising the cost of AAA games to $80 isn’t pricing anyone out.
In any case, we’re not talking about indie games. A big game like Baldur’s Gate 3 or Elden Ring costs $100M+ to make, which is a lot more expensive than it used to be.
Hot take, but $80 is a perfectly reasonable price for a “mainline” game.
Back in 1998, I saved all my money to buy Quest 64 for the suggested retail price of $60. That’s $120 in today’s money, and I guarantee you I didn’t get as much game as I will with Outer Worlds 2. Games dipped to $50 when they moved to discs, but even that was more expensive than today once you factor in inflation.
Realistically, an extra $10 isn’t pricing anyone out. All modern gaming platforms are expensive. There are still plenty of ways to enjoy gaming for cheap; they just don’t involve the newest platforms. That has been the case for most of the history of gaming.
Meanwhile games are more expensive than ever to develop. We want developers to get paid, and we want them to take more risks, but both of those things cost money.
I used to work at a DVD store, and sometimes we’d get a huge box with a single DVD at the bottom, and a ton of those plastic bags full of air to cushion it. When one of those packages arrived, I’d loudly announce, “Thank god! Our air arrived!” Then I’d tear it open and we’d all gasp like we’d been holding our breaths waiting for it.
Honestly I think he did a really good job as Superman.
